Day 02 Mumbai / Aurangabad
Morning tour of Mumbai visiting Kamla Nehru Park, Hanging Gardens situated on the slopes of Malabar Hill offering a panoramic view of Marine drive, Chowpatty Beach, Prince of Wales Museum, Mani Bhawan, Dhobi Ghat, Gateway of India and drive through the Crawford Market, Marine Drive and Flora Fountain. Checkout time is 1200 hrs. In the evening transfer to railway-station for overnight journey to Aurangabad.
Day 03 Aurangabad
In the morning the train arrives at Aurangabad and our representative will transfer you to hotel followed by breakfast. Full Day excursion tour of Ajanta Caves. Ajanta Caves are 106 kms from Aurangabad and date back to the 2nd century BC. The 30 rock hewn caves are adorned with Buddhist sculptures and frescoes. Overnight stay will be at Aurangabad.
Day 04 Aurangabad
After breakfast an excursion to Ellora Caves comprising 34 rock cut shrines, representing Buddhist, Hindu and Jain art dating from the 4th to 9th century A.D. The most remarkable among them is the Kailash Temple. The Kailash temple is the best example of Rock cut architecture and an engineering marvel. Overnight will be at hotel in Aurangabad.
Day 05 Aurangabad / Hyderabad
After breakfast you will be free to relax. Checkout time is 1200 hrs. In the evening transfer to railway station for overnight journey to Hyderabad.
Day 06 Hyderabad
Upon arrival at Hyderabad in morning our representative will transfer you to hotel followed by breakfast. Afternoon tour of Hyderabad follows, covering the Charminar (Rectangular Four Arched Monumental Gate), The Mecca Mosque and the Salar Jung Museum. The Salar Jung Museum has a collection of Manuscripts, ancient weapons, costumes and curios. Also visit the High Court building. Overnight will be at hotel in Hyderabad.
Day 07 Hyderabad / Chennai
After breakfast, you can take an optional tour to Golconda. Checkout time is 1200 hrs. In the evening our representative will transfer you to railway station for overnight journey to Chennai.
Day 08 Chennai
The train reaches Chennai in morning and you will be transferred to hotel followed by breakfast. Afternoon city tour follows, covering the Museum to see the Art and Bronze Gallery. Drive through the Flower and Fruit market, High court, Fort museum, Marina Beach, Santhome Cathedral and Snake Park. Stay overnight at hotel in Chennai.
Day 09 Chennai / Mahabalipuram and Kanchipuram / Chennai
Full Day excursion tour of Mahabalipuram and Kanchipuram follows. Late evening transfer to railway station for overnight journey to Trichy.
Kanchipuram was the ancient capital of the Pallavas. It is called the city of temples. The first temple dedicated to Shiva was built in the 7th and 8th century and has paintings on the walls. Other temples of interest are Ekambaswara, Kailasanatha, Sri Kamakshi and Varadarajaswamy. Kanchipuram is also famous for its silk.
Mahabalipuram is famous for the seven pagodas or the Rath temples. On the seashore of Mahabalipuram is an interesting group of ancient rock cut temples. These temples are perfect examples of Dravidian style of Architecture.
Day 10 Trichy
The train arrives at Trichy in morning and our representative will transfer you to hotel followed by breakfast. You will be taken for an afternoon tour of Trichy. Trichy was once the citadel of the Chola dynasty in the medieval period. Lord Robert Clive's house is still there to see and so is the Danish Church. The Rock-Fort is the landmark of Trichy. Overnight will be at hotel in Trichy.
Day 11 Trichy / Madurai
In the morning you will be driven to Madurai, visiting Tanjore on your way. Tanjore is known for its temples. The Chola Temple of Brihadeeshwara is capped by a monolithic cupola made of a single granite block weighing 80 tons which was taken to the top with the help of a 6 km long ramp, an old technique used by the Egyptians for building pyramids. Its bronzes and handicrafts make Tanjore one of the highlights of a visit to South India. Stay overnight at hotel in Madurai.
Day 12 Madurai
After breakfast, visit the great Meenakshi Temple, dedicated to the consort of Lord Shiva. Later, you will be taken to the Tirumala Nayak Palace. It is a gracious building built in the Indo saracenic style. Other attractions at trichy are the Alagar Hills and Tirupara Kundran Rock temple. In the afternoon you will be free. Overnight stay will be at hotel in Madurai.
Day 13 Madurai / Periyar
After breakfast you will be driven to the Periyar National Park. The Periyar National Park spreads across a large area and forms part of the high mountain ranges, the Western Ghats. Wild life can be seen while cruising on the Periyar Lake in a motorboat. Elephants, wild boar, sambar, tiger, leopard, wild dog, langur monkeys, etc. can be spotted easily. Overnight stay will be at Periyar.
Day 14 Periyar / Cochin
After your breakfast you will be driven to Cochin. Arrive and transfer to hotel. Overnight Cochin.
Day 15 Cochin
After breakfast you will be taken for a city tour of Cochin. It has one of the finest natural harbors on the Arabian Sea coast. Cochin is a natural harbor created by the famed backwaters. Vasco-de-Gama placed Cochin on the world map. Cochin has a Jewish synagogue, Portuguese churches, mosques and Hindu temples. Watch the Chinese Fishing Nets. Checkout at time is 1200 hrs. Transfer to railway-station for overnight journey to Bangalore.
Day 16 Bangalore / Mysore
Upon arriving at Bangalore railway station in the morning you will be driven to Mysore. After reaching Mysore you will be transferred to hotel. Overnight stay will be at Mysore.
Day 17 Mysore
After breakfast, you will visit the palace of the Maharaja. The palace presents synthesis of the Hindu and saracenic styles of architecture with archways, domes, turrets, colonnades and sculptures which are magnificent. You will also be taken to the Art Gallery and driven to the Chamundi hill to see Chamundeshwari Temple and have a panoramic view of Mysore. On the way back, you can see the Nandi Bull. In the afternoon you will be free to relax. Overnight will be at hotel in Mysore.
Day 18 Mysore / Bangalore / Mumbai or Delhi
After breakfast you will be driven to Bangalore airport to board the flight for Mumbai or Delhi. Arrive and drive to city center and later in the evening transfer to international airport.
